Forest Preserves of Cook County: Parking

By order of the Forest Preserves of Cook County, we are no longer allowed to park along the path from the parking lot to the center line. As stated numerous times in the past, we are also not to park at the center line.  The center line pad and stalls are designated for loading and unloading.  NO PARKING! Violators will be ticketed and towed at the owners expense. Forest Preserve Police will now be frequenting the flying site looking for violators. There is no lifting of this parking mandate for the foreseeable future.

As we have stated on several occasions, parking along the path was granted by the FPCC as a privilege, as long as the lot was full.  We have now lost this privilege.  It’s unfortunate that we have now lost this valuable parking area. We have a unique privilege to fly at Checkerboard Field / Miller Meadows, but remember, it is not our property.

Please pass this information along to fellow flyers and assist in the enforcement of the rules while at the field.

Thank you
