Checkerboard RC Field

    Safety

      • Never fly in the pits.

        • Use the channel board to show your raceband channel number or its equivalent if using another system like DJI. The chart is on the back of the page.

        • Maintain adequate distance between pilots to prevent interference.

        • Announce “Plugging in on channel #”, “Taking off”,  “Landing”, and “On the field”.

    Consideration

        • Not all pilots want to race. Share the space.

        • Help find lost quads.

        • If there is an abundance of pilots share the channels.

        • Load and unload in the proper area. Park in the parking lot at the end of the road.

    Responsibility

      • Gates don’t last forever. Checkerboard will periodically ask quad pilots for $$ to replace gates.

      • If a gate is down or torn, help fix it

    • If no fixed wing aircraft are in the air, you may fly outside of the drone quad area (red arrow) if you have a spotter to notify you of fixed wing take offs; return to the drone/quad area immediately upon fixed wing take off.
